Hate Crime

92 min / Drama / PG-13

Steven Esteb

As a killer is executed for murdering a young gay man,

two sets of parents struggle to deal with the consequences

of fear and repression. As the clock ticks toward midnight

and the execution, these two families are on a collision

course to confront how this happened and who is to blame.

Stark and foreboding, this story is told between the lines.

It tells you nothing, but you know everything. It compels

you to dig deep into the lives of these characters and

challenges you not to care. It is an emotional journey,

with unforgettable performances, unveiled through jarring

revelations. Right out of the headlines, it is an American

tragedy that happens all too often. But this film is not

about politics or morality or culture. It’s about a family.

HEAR THE SILENCE

95 min / Drama / PG-13

Ed Ehrenberg

This is the story of the men and women at the time of

the German attack on Russia in 1941. A small, lost unit

of German soldiers is looking for shelter in a remote,

snowy small village in the Ukraine. They got separated

from their company during battle and now they are deep

within enemy territory cut off from the German troops.
The soldiers have to make a stop in the village in order

to get provisions and transport so that they can join

their troops again - maybe a very dangerous thing to do.

HEAR THE SILENCE is a parable about the loss of innocence

during times of war that results in brutal preventive

actions. People get trapped in an unstoppable circle of

violence.
